Our Vision, Mission and Aims
Our vision is for an Ireland with a cycle-friendly culture, where everyone has a real choice to cycle and is encouraged to experience the joy, convenience, health and environmental benefits of cycling.
Improving conditions so that more people of all ages can feel safe choosing active transport modes will reduce an over-dependence on private motor vehicles.
Public road space in urban and rural Ireland needs to be more equitably allocated to benefit the movement of people, rather than being dominated by moving and parked motorised vehicles..there are better ways for us to move about so as to benefit ourselves, society, the economy and the environment – and traffic management policies need to recognise this by placing cycling and walking at the fore, and especially for school children.
Mission
Our mission is to celebrate, advocate for, encourage and enable everyday cycling as a means of travel and as a way to secure many health, societal, economic and environmental gains, as well as an enjoyable activity in its own right.

Strategy
The Council of ICC adopted its strategy on 12 December 2020.
It is available here as a PDF.
This strategy sets out the vision, mission, values and strategic aims of Cyclist.ie – the Irish Cycling Advocacy Network.
Our strategy is a high-level framework that will guide our Council, Executive Committee (EC), volunteers, and the National Cycling Coordinator (NCC) in their work.
Its main purpose is to help direct our time and energies. It is about providing guidance on where we should concentrate our efforts in terms of campaigning priorities and organisational development.
It is about sharing this with others so they have a better understanding of our organisation.
This strategy document “makes clear who we are, and why we do what we do…It sets out where we want to be in 5 years’ time.”
