You may have noticed that Irish Cycling Campaign have a beautiful new brand and identity.
We’ve been working hard to set up a whole new governance structure, re-registering with the regulatory bodies, joining the Irish Environmental Network, and integrating our membership so that your contributions as members can have the most impact.
We proudly launched our new name, structure and branding – and this website – on May 17th in Fingal, in what we’re pretty sure was a huge day for transport in Ireland.
Key to the re-launch was our gorgeous new brand. We were incredibly lucky to be introduced to top Dublin-based agency The Public House, one of the very few independent marketing and ad agencies left in Ireland, who agreed last year to help us through the process. The Public House are a young, successful design and strategy company based in Dublin 8, many of whose staff use bikes to get around. The Public House name comes from their ambition to create work so impactful, it weaves its way into pub conversations — you can check out their incredible work here: https://www.publichouse.ie.

Terri, Eimear and Paddy at The Public House collaborated with us to completely rebrand our organisation and create something that represents our values and our vision of an Ireland “where everyone, regardless of age or ability, can safely cycle to shops, schools, and workplaces,” and they’ve done a brilliant job.

As the team at TPH say, “This minimalist and modern logo, using the identifiable mark of the wheel, also represents the ever evolving and growing organisation and its continuous journey to improve cycling culture nationwide.” It was created in both English and as Gaeilge, for various different formats. The design team also provided guidance for use across many formats, including this colour palette and guidelines for our image use and language.
The Minister for Transport gave a heartening speech at our launch event saying, “The benefits of active travel infrastructure are far-reaching — improving public health, protecting the environment, supporting local economies, and enhancing the overall quality of life in our towns and cities. I encourage everyone to get involved and be part of this national movement!”
So we are off to a very good start.
We’re deeply grateful to the team at The Public House, including Associate Creative Director: Paddy O’Mahoney; Head of Design: Eimear O’Sullivan, and Designer: Molly Devlin. Not to mention the brilliant and ultra-patient Business & Operations Director, Terri Turner.
